A focused 3–4 week plan is enough to clear the Infosys Systems Engineer test if you respect one fact: the paper is won in its Infosys-specific sections — cryptarithmetic, pseudocode and puzzles — where most candidates walk in unprepared.
Week-by-week plan
- Week 1 — Aptitude core. Revise Time & Work, Ages, Mixtures, Interest, Speed–Distance, P&C and Probability from the syllabus. Target: any aptitude question in under 3 minutes.
- Week 2 — Reasoning + cryptarithmetic. Do series, coding-decoding and arrangements daily, then master the cryptarithmetic method — 15–20 solved puzzles makes the pattern library click.
- Week 3 — Pseudocode + puzzles. Trace 50 pseudocode snippets with a variable table, and drill the five repeating puzzle patterns. Keep 15 minutes daily for verbal — error spotting and idioms.
- Week 4 — Full papers. Timed placement papers on alternate days; review every mistake the same day. Practice one 10-minute email/essay per paper.
Exam-day strategy
- No negative marking — never leave a question blank.
- Sectional timers mean sectional strategies: quick wins first in Reasoning, accuracy-first in Quant, speed-reading in Verbal.
- In Pseudocode, trace on paper; in Puzzles, test sum/product/digit-sum rules against every example before answering.
