TCS CodeVita is Tata Consultancy Services' global coding competition — certified by Guinness World Records as the world's largest computer programming competition — and, for Indian students, the most direct route to a TCS Digital or TCS Prime offer without sitting the regular TCS NQT. Solve algorithmic problems in timed online rounds; rank well, and TCS calls you for interviews months before campus season begins.

How CodeVita is different from TCS NQT
NQT is an in-centre aptitude-plus-coding test that everybody takes. CodeVita is pure programming: no aptitude, no verbal, no MCQs — just six to ten story-style algorithmic problems per round with strict input/output formats and hidden test cases. NQT sorts you into a salary tier by score; CodeVita sorts you by rank, and a strong rank can put you straight into a Digital or Prime interview.
Why it matters
Season 13 drew a record 1,46,922 participants in a single round and produced 30 finalists (22 from India). Thousands of students below the finale line still received interview calls — which is why serious TCS aspirants treat CodeVita as attempt one and NQT as attempt two at the same job. Preparation for one directly helps the other: the NQT Advanced Coding section asks the same style of problems at a lower difficulty.
TCS also runs a third fresher track for science graduates — TCS BSc Ignite — for BCA, B.Sc and B.Voc students. CodeVita is open to those degrees too.
