Registration is free and entirely online. The only thing that trips students up is the two-portal setup — CodeVita has its own contest site, but your candidate identity lives on TCS NextStep.
Step-by-step
- Create a TCS NextStep profile (nextstep.tcs.com) — choose the "IT" category, fill in personal and academic details, and note the Reference ID (CT/DT number) it generates.
- Open the CodeVita portal (codevita.tcsapps.com) when registrations are live and click Register. Sign in or link the same email you used on NextStep.
- Complete the contest form: institute, course, expected year of completion, preferred programming language and time zone. The graduation year must fall inside the season's eligible window.
- Verify your email — the confirmation mail carries your contest login. Whitelist the sender; slot allocations and results come from the same address.
- Attempt MockVita when it opens. It uses the real contest interface, so it doubles as a check that your login works.
- Book / confirm your Round 1 zone slot when the schedule is released, and keep a photo ID handy on contest day.
Documents and details you will need
- A personal email ID (not the college one — it may expire before your offer arrives).
- Institute name exactly as on your marksheets, course, branch, year of completion.
- Date of birth and a government photo ID for the finale / interview stage.
Do not create duplicate NextStep profiles — TCS treats multiple Reference IDs for one person as a discrepancy at the offer stage. If you already registered for NQT or BSc Ignite, reuse that profile.
