TCS NQT registration happens entirely on the TCS NextStep portal. The process takes about 30–45 minutes if you have your documents ready. Here is the exact flow.
1. Create your NextStep profile
- Go to the TCS NextStep portal and click Register Now.
- Select category "IT" (for engineering/software roles — BPS is for business process roles).
- Fill in your name, email and mobile number exactly as per your documents — these cannot be changed easily later.
- Note the CT/DT reference number generated; it is your permanent TCS candidate ID.
2. Complete the application form
- Personal details and permanent address
- Academic details — Class 10, Class 12/diploma and every semester of graduation, with percentages exactly matching your marksheets
- Internships or work experience, if any
- Upload photo, signature and resume in the specified formats
3. Apply for the drive
- On the dashboard, open "Apply For Drive" and choose the active NQT drive.
- Select your test mode and preferred test cities.
- Submit and download the application confirmation PDF — your registration is complete only when the status shows "Applied for Drive".
4. Hall ticket
Download the admit card from the portal when released (usually about a week before your slot). Carry a printed copy with a valid photo ID to the centre.
Common mistakes to avoid: registering under BPS instead of IT, entering rounded-up percentages that don't match marksheets, skipping the "Apply For Drive" step, and using an email you don't check — all TCS communication lands there.
