Applications for TCS NQT happen on the TCS NextStep portal — not on the general TCS careers site. Follow the steps below carefully; an incomplete application form is the most common reason candidates miss a drive.
Step-by-step application process
- Register on TCS NextStep — visit the TCS NextStep portal and click Register Now. Choose the "IT" category (not BPS) for software roles. You will receive a CT/DT reference number — save it, it is your identity for all future TCS drives.
- Fill the application form — personal details, academic records from Class 10 onward (percentages exactly as on marksheets), internship or work experience if any, and document uploads.
- Apply for the drive — after submitting your profile, click "Apply For Drive". Just creating the profile is not enough; if you skip this step you are not registered for the test.
- Select your preferences — choose your preferred test cities and job location preferences, then download the application confirmation.
- Download your hall ticket — released a few days before the exam on the same portal. Carry a printout plus a government photo ID to the centre.
Documents to keep ready
- Class 10 and 12 marksheets, and all semester marksheets
- A recent passport-size photograph (as per portal specifications)
- Government photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, passport or driving licence)
- Gap/backlog justification documents, if applicable
