Verbal Ability carries the most questions in the TCS NQT Foundation section — 25 questions in 25 minutes. It measures everyday professional English: grammar, vocabulary in context, sentence structure and reading comprehension.
What the verbal section covers
- Sentence completion (single and double blanks)
- Error spotting and sentence correction
- Synonyms, antonyms, and idioms & phrases in context
- Para jumbles (ordering sentences into a paragraph)
- Reading comprehension passages
Note: the separate email writing task from older TCS Ninja papers is no longer part of TCS NQT — the current pattern is fully objective, so focus your energy on grammar, vocabulary and RC speed instead.
