How WriteX scores your essay
- Length discipline — stay strictly between 200 and 400 words; too short or too long is penalised.
- Grammar and spelling — keep total errors under five; beyond that the engine starts deducting.
- Structure — distinct paragraphs (introduction, arguments for, arguments against, conclusion) score better than one block of text.
- Vocabulary diversity — repeating the same words lowers the score; vary sentence openings and connectors.

A 20-minute template that works
- Minutes 0–3: pick your stance and jot 3 points for, 2 against.
- Minutes 3–15: write four paragraphs — introduction (define the topic, ~50 words), pros (~120), cons (~120), conclusion with your balanced verdict (~60).
- Minutes 15–20: proofread twice — once for spelling, once for subject–verb agreement and tense consistency.
