Verbal Ability is Wipro's biggest section by question count — 22 questions in just 14 minutes, under 40 seconds per question. The questions themselves are standard professional English; the sectional timer is what eliminates unprepared candidates.
What the verbal section covers
- Synonyms and antonyms (exam favourites: Nadir, Mitigate, Atrocious)
- Grammar and error identification
- Fill in the blanks and sentence completion
- Sentence rearrangement (para jumbles)
- Active–passive voice and direct–indirect speech
- Reading comprehension (short passages)
Practice Wipro verbal questions
Select the option closest in meaning to “Mitigate”.
Choose the antonym of “Physical”.
Choose the correct phrase to complete the sentence: “Were you a bird, you ______ in the sky.”
Do vocabulary and grammar questions in one read — if you need to re-read, mark your gut answer and move on. Save the reading comprehension passage for last so a long passage cannot eat the whole section.
Strong verbal skills pay double at Wipro: the same grammar rules are scored by WriteX in the essay writing round.
