The Turbo online assessment is the same paper as Elite NTH — three timed aptitude sections, one essay and two coding problems, roughly 128 minutes end to end, delivered online with webcam proctoring. What changes is the cut-off and the weight the coding section carries in the Turbo shortlist.
Section-wise pattern
| Section | Questions | Time | Turbo expectation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quantitative Ability | 16 | 16 min | 13+ correct |
| Logical Reasoning | 14 | 14 min | 11+ correct |
| Verbal Ability | 18 | 18 min | 14+ correct |
| Written Communication (essay) | 1 | 20 min | 200–400 words, under 5 errors |
| Coding (C / C++ / Java / Python) | 2 problems | 60 min | Both problems, all hidden tests, optimal complexity |
| Total | 48 MCQs + 1 essay + 2 problems | ≈ 128 min | — |
Rules that shape your strategy
- Sectional timers. Each aptitude section is locked at one minute per question; unused time does not carry over. Sixty seconds is the budget for every MCQ.
- No negative marking in coding. Submit whatever compiles and passes visible cases, then optimise. Aptitude sections are also reported as having no negative marking — do not leave blanks.
- Coding is scored on hidden tests. Each problem has visible samples and a hidden set with large inputs. An O(n²) solution to a 10⁵-sized input passes the samples and fails the hidden set — this is exactly where Elite-level and Turbo-level candidates separate.
- Essay is auto-scored. The written-communication section (WriteX) checks word count (200–400), grammar, spelling and structure; candidates report about five errors before penalties begin. See essay writing.
- Languages. C, C++, Java and Python in the coding editor. Pick the one you can debug fastest under a timer — Turbo is not the place to try a new language.
After the online test
| Round | Format | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Voice Assessment | Automated spoken-English test: read aloud, listen and respond, sentence correction, free speech | ≈ 60 min (candidate-reported) |
| Business Discussion | Single technical + HR panel — projects, DSA and complexity, OOP, SQL, language basics, HR | 20–30 min (candidate-reported) |
Question counts per aptitude section have varied slightly across drives (verbal has been reported at 18 and at 22). The totals — 48 minutes of aptitude, 20 minutes of essay, 60 minutes of coding — have been stable. The Elite-track exam pattern page tracks the latest count.
