The TechBee interview is a conversation with one or two members of HCLTech's selection committee, 15–25 minutes, pitched at a 17–19-year-old. It checks four things: that you can express yourself in English, that you have chosen TechBee deliberately, that your parents are on board with the fee and relocation, and that you have the basic curiosity for IT work. The ten questions below cover all four; click each for a model answer.
Conduct that matters at this level
- Dress neatly (school-uniform-level formal is fine), carry a folder with originals and copies, arrive 30 minutes early.
- Answer in complete English sentences even if you are more comfortable in Hindi or your state language; if you do not understand a question, ask politely for it to be repeated.
- Know your Class 12 marks, board and maths percentage without checking; know the fee, the loan option and the training location you asked for.
- Do not invent technical knowledge. "I have not learnt that yet, but I know that …" followed by something you do know is a good answer.
The essay you wrote in HCL CAT is graded here — be ready to talk about it. Graduate-level interview material, for comparison, is on the HCLTech GET interview questions page.
