Eight quantitative questions at the WILP level — one from each of the high-frequency topics — with verified answers and one-line working. Click an option to check yourself. Target: all eight in 10 minutes, because the real section gives you one minute per question.
Two numbers are respectively 40% and 80% more than a third number. What is the ratio of the first number to the second?

The simple interest on a sum of money for 2 years at 5% per annum is Rs. 500. What is the compound interest on the same sum at the same rate for the same period?
A husband and wife together can finish a piece of work in 24 days. The husband alone can do it in 60 days. In how many days can the wife alone complete the same work?

What the 20 quantitative questions usually look like
| Topic family | Typical count | Time budget |
|---|---|---|
| Percentages, profit & loss, SI / CI | 5 – 6 | 45 s each — formula-driven |
| Time & work, pipes, speed-distance | 4 – 5 | 60 – 75 s each — use LCM units |
| Ratio, averages, ages, mixtures | 4 – 5 | 60 s each — one equation |
| Number system, P&C, probability, DI | 4 – 5 | Do DI last; it eats time |
Speed habits that matter here
- Assume 100 for percentage-comparison questions; the ratio drops out without algebra.
- Two-year CI − SI = P(r/100)², and two-year CI = SI + interest on the first year's interest — both are one-line answers.
- For time-and-work, take the LCM of the days as total units of work; every rate becomes an integer.
- Averages: only the change matters — new total minus old total tells you who replaced whom.
- Probability of "exactly one" = P(A)·(1 − P(B)) + (1 − P(A))·P(B).
- Plug the options back in when an equation looks long — four options and no reported negative marking.
