TCS does not publish the Ignite package on the drive page, so the figures below are compiled from offer letters shared publicly by 2024–26 candidates. What TCS does publish is the growth path: pay increases of up to 2.5× within one to two years of joining, tied to completing the Ignite upskilling track.
Reported compensation
| Stage | Reported CTC | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Joining (Ignite trainee) | ₹3.5 – ₹4.5 LPA | Candidate-reported; varies by cycle and location |
| After Ignite upskilling (1–2 years) | Up to ~₹7 LPA | TCS's "up to 2.5×" statement applied to the joining band |
| Comparison — TCS NQT Ninja | ₹3.36 – ₹3.6 LPA | Engineering route; see NQT salary |
What the Ignite programme adds
- Science to Software training — an intensive, mentored programme covering programming, databases, web and cloud fundamentals before project deployment.
- Postgraduate credits — TCS states that Ignite learning earns recognition worth about 50% of a postgraduate degree through curated university partnerships, so a part-time M.Sc / MCA becomes shorter and cheaper.
- Career ladder — Ignite trainees move into the same roles (developer, tester, data analyst, cloud support) as engineering hires; the degree label stops mattering after the first appraisal.
In-hand estimate
On a ₹3.5 LPA CTC, expect roughly ₹24,000–26,000 per month in hand after PF and professional tax, before any variable component. Metro postings carry higher allowances than tier-2 cities.
Science graduates who want the ₹7–12 LPA Digital / Prime bands from day one should also enter TCS CodeVita — it is open to B.Sc / BCA students and its rank-based interviews are the only fresher route to those tiers without an engineering degree.
